Great news! Back in January we raised $21,975 to deliver medical supplies and automatic electronic defibrillators (AEDs) to frontline ambulances in Ukraine. It has taken several months, but finally we can report the delivery from Poland to Ukraine of 11 BeneHeart C1A AEDs and a BeneHeart D30 AED. These AEDs have been installed in frontline ambulances operated by the rescue service of the Red Cross of Ukraine.

Today we are excited to announce that we shipped $7226.40 worth of prescription anti-seizure medications, anti-nausea medications, prednisone, as well as an additional amount of over-the-counter medications and wound care supplies off to Ukraine. The prescription medications were purchased through our wonderful partners at Blessings International, and their organization donated $3000 toward the cost of the meds in this shipment! The past several weeks have been very busy here at @rocukrainemedrelief, and it is time to bring you some important updates.
Through our GoFundMe campaign, we have raised over $26,000 from our generous donors to support our mission of delivering medications and supplies to hospitals in Ukraine. We have so far sent a total of 7 shipments of 648 lbs (294 kg) of over-the-counter medications, prescription medications, and hospital supplies. This includes our first dedicated shipment of prescription medications ($6,071.50 of mostly anti-seizure meds).
On April 23, 2022 we sent 23 lbs (10.5 kg) of over-the-counter medicines, infant formula, hospital supplies, allergy medications, and other prescription medications to the 1st Children’s Polyclinic and Prof. O.I. Meschanynov Emergency Medical Care Hospital in Kharkiv, Ukraine. The allergy medications were generously provided by Dr. Manisha Relan, pediatric allergist in Albany, NY. The other supplies were generously provided by pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare workers in the Rochester area.
On April 16, 2022 we sent 48 lbs (21.8 kg) of over-the-counter medicines, allergy medications, and other prescription medications to the 1st Childrens Polyclinic and 5th Childrens Hospital in Kharkiv, Ukraine. These supplies were generously provided by our neighbors as well as healthcare workers at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester NY.

Events have been busy, and we are a little behind on updates.
Since February 2022 5.1 million Ukrainians have fled their country, with 2.9 million arriving in Poland. Earlier this month our friend and colleague, Rochester area internist Dr. Neil Scheier, provided volunteer medical care through the organization Sauvateurs Sans Frontieres / Rescuers Without Borders at a refugee welcome center on the Poland-Ukraine border.

This past weekend, we delivered our latest shipment of over-the-counter medications and hospital supplies to ROCMaidan, who yesterday had them shipped as part of a larger aid delivery to New York City. From NYC, the shipment will be sent by plane this weekend to Ukraine. Once they arrive in Ukraine, our items are addressed to the Kharkiv City Children’s Neurological Hospital No. 5 in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
