Winter Fundraiser for Frontline Ambulance Supplies

This weekend we held our Winter Fundraiser to deliver medical supplies and automatic electronic defibrillators (AEDs) to frontline ambulances in Ukraine. What a success! Thanks to our amazing and dedicated donors, we raised $21,975 toward this delivery.

It was a very special evening. First, our friends at the Rochester Academy of Medicine graciously donated use of their beautiful venue at the Lyon House on East Avenue in Rochester. We are so grateful for this donation, as it made this fundraiser possible, and helped draw the crowd into their stunning book-lined living room with sublime acoustics. Mother Nature next cooperated with a gentle dusting of snow (and just enough wind to remind us it was January in Rochester). New friends and old came out to hear a magical concert by aTonalHits, Katha Zinn on violin and Illya Filshtinskiy on piano. We held an auction and everyone enjoyed some wonderful food. The snow had just stopped falling by the time the event closed.

Thank you to our many donors, many of whom have been with us throughout our mission, and also welcome to our new donors. Ukraine may not be often in the news lately, but we continue to expand our donor base nevertheless, and get the word out about how important it is to support a free and independent Ukraine.

And thank you to our incredible volunteers, who helped with every aspect of making this event a success. We couldn’t do this without you!

Finally, thank you to Rochester Regional Health Foundations, under whose non-profit umbrella we operate, taking care of official business and allowing us to focus on our mission.

During the upcoming week we will begin the transfer of the funds raised to our contacts in Ukraine, and will keep you posted on the delivery of AEDs and other supplies for the frontline ambulances!
