Brother's Brother Neurology Med Shipment for Ukraine

Today's shipment.

Today we are excited to announce that we shipped $7226.40 worth of prescription anti-seizure medications, anti-nausea medications, prednisone, as well as an additional amount of over-the-counter medications and wound care supplies off to Ukraine. The prescription medications were purchased through our wonderful partners at Blessings International, and their organization donated $3000 toward the cost of the meds in this shipment! Thank you Blessings!

The over-the-counter medications and wound care supplies were generously donated by healthcare workers at the Golisano Children’s Hospital, in Rochester NY. We are so impressed with the ongoing dedication of our area healthcare workers – even though we are now a couple of months into this drive, every week our donation bin at the hospital is full.

In addition we wanted to share with you something special someone included in this round of donations. We are not sure who, but it appears some of our younger donors took the time to write and color some very touching cards and messages for our Ukrainian friends:

Cards 1 Cards 2.

These messages are so important. Beyond the donated medications and supplies, which are so valuable for the healing they can bring, these messages let our Ukrainian friends know that there are people – many people – beyond their borders who are thinking of them and are worried about them, and are doing their best to help. Please keep these messages coming!

In case anyone is curious what over $7000 in prescription anti-seizure medications look like, here it is:

Finally, we have important news to share about how these medications and supplies are being shipped. Through the national taskforce of neurologists with whom we are collaborating, we have been introduced to the Brother’s Brother Foundation. The Brother’s Brother Foundation began in 1958, and their humanitarian efforts include regularly scheduled relief shipments and programmatic work in the areas of healthcare, infrastructure, disaster response, and education. Their response to the crisis in Ukraine has been truly impressive. The Brother’s Brother Foundation routinely sends large multi-pallet shipments of humanitarian relief to Ukraine, and we are very happy that our medications and supplies from Rochester NY will be included in their next shipment!

Once this shipment arrives in Ukraine, we have addressed part of the supplies to Children’s Hospital No 5 in Kharkiv, and part to a child neurology colleague at the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital.

We are still accepting donations!

We are collecting monetary donations to support the purchase of medical supplies and non-controlled substance medications now for Ukrainian hospitals. Go to our fundraising page to contribute.

We are a non-profit organized under the Rochester Regional Health Foundations.
