Allendale Columbia School Atonal Hits Funds Arrive

Great news! This week the Ukraine Medical Relief Fund received the funds raised last month at the successful holiday concert organized by the 8th graders at Allendale-Columbia School in Rochester, NY, with a wonderful performance by Katha Zinn on violin and Illya Filshtinskiy on piano.

The Allendale-Columbia School 8th grade students presented us a check for $8337.51. We will be immediately putting these funds toward a humanitarian aid project for a Ukrainian hospital, and are currently discussing the logistics with our partner Future For Ukraine Foundation. We will of course update you when we have the details on completion of this project.

These 8th grade students deserve so much acknowledgement for their hard work in putting together this benefit event. The idea for the benefit concert arose after the students saw the WXXI story about our work, they followed the story of the ambulance we delivered to the Kharkiv Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital #1, and decided they wanted to do something to help children in Ukraine. We are very grateful that they chose to do this! What a wonderful lesson from these students in identifying a need and working together to reach a goal. We hope these students stay active in following current events and joining together with others to make the world a better place. We need them!

With such talented middle school students and classical musicians on the team helping children’s hospitals – Ukraine can only be victorious.
