Wegmans Medical Aid Shipment Arrives in Kharkiv

We have great news! Back in June, Wegmans the famous supermarket chain headquartered here in Rochester, NY, donated $10,000 toward our mission to provide medicines and supplies to Ukrainian hospitals.
This week, we delivered! Working with our partners at the Future For Ukraine Foundation, we purchased supplies and medications requested by the Kharkiv City Clinical Children’s Hospital No. 16 – and this week the supplies arrived!. Wegmans is a real fixture of home for us here in Rochester – and to see their logo on the boxes in the photo above warms the heart.
The shipment included a portable EKG, a urinalysis machine, a telemedicine system, as well as several equipment sterilization machines. The sterilization machines are essential for a hospital to maintain sterile conditions for its instruments and to prevent infections during surgeries and other procedures. We also would like to emphasize that the effect of providing equipment like this is multiplicative – they help people over and over again. The medications included an assortment of antibiotics, pediatric hematology, nephrology, and pain medications, plus insulin. The Kharkiv City Clinical Children’s Hospital No. 16 provides specialty care for youngsters with cancer, blood diseases, as well as kidney diseases. These medications are immediately useful. We are honored to provide these supplies to our Ukrainian colleagues and their patients, and grateful to Wegmans for their generosity in making this shipment possible! Their donation is saving lives tonight in Kharkiv.

In the coming days we will receive further photos and videos from the Kharkiv City Clinical Children’s Hospital No. 16 about this shipment. Kharkiv has been under constant rocket attacks these past couple of weeks from the terrorist state Russia. These rocket attacks, if they are “targeting” anything, are hitting civilian homes and civilian infrastructure. The electricity in the city is often out, there are still many killed and wounded, and people are still living out of basement bomb shelters. When we get more photos and video, we will share them with you.
