Ukrainian-American Cultural Association of Oregon Medical Aid Shipment for Ukraine

This week the Ukraine Medical Relief Fund’s efforts reached across the U.S. The world has shown that when it comes to helping Ukraine win this war, the best efforts are cooperative efforts, and that’s what we are doing here. This week we shipped (72 lbs / 32.5 kg) in prescription antibiotics, antifungals, anti-nausea medications, as well as over-the-counter medicines, medical protective equipment, and other hospital supplies. Some of the hospital supplies were donated by members of Child Neurology at the University of Rochester Medical Center, as well as other donors in the Rochester NY area. This shipment was put together in cooperation with our friends at RocMaidan. And new friends at the Ukrainian-American Cultural Association of OR & SW WA, a group that has amazing shipping logistics into Ukraine, is covering the cost of shipping.

Here are $2300 in prescription antibiotics, anti-fungals, and anti-nausea medications.
The $2300 in prescription medications in this shipment are headed for the Children’s Oncologic Hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, and the cost was shared between us and RocMaidan. Also, RocMaidan has purchased another $2000 in antibiotics through the Future For Ukraine Foundation, which will be sourced in Poland and Ukraine and delivered to the Children’s Oncologic Hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk.
The other part of this shipment goes to the 1st Children’s Polyclinic in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and includes $874 in hospital equipment such as a stethoscope, an otoscope, an ophthalmoscope, a Woods lamp, and ambu bags for pediatric critical care resuscitation. This shipment has been a real team effort!

Pediatric ambu bag, for critical care resuscitation.
This is also the first shipment that includes medications purchased through the Rochester General Hospital pharmacy, and we are grateful for their collaboration in getting this order together. Of course, we will continue to purchase prescription medications through Blessings International, but working with the RGH pharmacy allows us access to a different variety of drugs.
