Sleep, Little Cossack Lullaby for the Children of Ukraine

Our child neurology colleague in Lviv shared this video with us for the Christmas season. The children’s choir Dudaryk performs a lullaby dedicated to all of the children of Ukraine who have suffered in this war.

Sleep, little Cossack
Roll over onto your side.
Sleep, little one, mom is falling asleep.
Sleep, Cossack, your horse will wait.

Rock-a-bye, rock-a-bye,
St. Nicholas will come tomorrow,
Will bring you a gift
Golden songs as a gift.

Chorus:
And on a quiet Christmas night
We will go to the Sich1
Koshovy2 will give us
Christmas gingerbread.

Sleep, little cossack, it’s too early to fight
Your hetmans3 are still little,
And when you go into your first battle -
There are few of us and even fewer of you…

Sleep, little one, you must sleep.
The bunny is sleeping and the wolfcub.
The blue geyser is playing,
The fairy tale is pouring over the edge.
Rock-a-bye, rock-a-bye.

Chorus
