International Day for the Protection of Children

June 1st was the International Day for the Protection of Children in Ukraine. We are very honored that so many of our aid shipments are arriving in Ukraine at this time, and the contents are able to be dispensed to families with children. So many of our donors are pediatric healthcare workers and have taken a solemn oath to protect children from harm, or are parents themselves, or are just people of normal conscience, who would never want to see any child in danger.

This message is from our friends and colleagues in Kharkiv, Ukraine, so you can see the aid your donations are providing:

Message from Kharkiv.

“On the Day of Protection of Children, Kharkiv, June 1, 2022, today none of our little patients left empty handed…”

Donations distributed in Kharkiv. Donations distributed in Kharkiv.

UNICEF reports that 5.2 million Ukrainian children are in need of assistance due to this war, and at least 262 children have been killed and 415 injured since February 24th, 2022. And we do not even know the full scale of the catastrophe in places like Mariupol.

Russia is hoping that the rest of the world becomes bored, or tired of caring, about what they are doing to Ukraine. But that is not going to happen. We continue to focus our attention, make new contacts, strengthen friendships, raise money, and send medicines and supplies to hospitals in Ukraine. We will continue to lend hands to the protection of the children of Ukraine.

Our friends at the Kharkiv City Children’s Neurological Hospital No. 5 sent us this uplifting video to share, showing their celebration of the International Day for the Protection of Children:

We are still accepting donations!

We are collecting monetary donations to support the purchase of medical supplies and non-controlled substance medications now for Ukrainian hospitals. Go to our fundraising page to contribute.

We are a non-profit organized under the Rochester Regional Health Foundations.
