Our medical colleagues in Ukraine need our help

Kharkiv, Ukraine.

The Russian war on Ukraine has so far resulted in the internal displacement of ¼ of Ukraine’s population of 44 million people, with several million more forced to flee as refugees outside of the country. There is not a part of Ukraine untouched by this war. Ukraine’s medical system is stressed to the breaking point. Evidence that Russian forces are deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure such as hospitals, clinics, and schools has already led 41 nations to refer Russia’s behavior to the International Criminal Court for the investigation of war crimes.

Our medical colleagues in Ukraine desperately need our help. Hospitals and clinics need basic supplies as well as medications to continue functioning.

Working with pediatricians and child neurologists who are on the ground in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv, as well as the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, first we have assembled a list of needed non-medication hospital supplies and over-the-counter medications. We are working with a number of avenues to deliver these items to Ukraine, for example to the Child Neurology Hospital in Kharkiv and then other medical facilities in need. Second, we are assembling a list of non-controlled substance medications that we will purchase through charitable organization www.blessing.org that we will ship to Ukraine.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

We are collecting monetary donations to support the purchase of medical supplies and non-controlled substance medications now for Ukrainian hospitals. Go to our fundraising page to contribute.

We are a non-profit organized under the Rochester Regional Health Foundations.

Please give what you can.

Local connections to the medical community and people in Ukraine will allow us to ensure the supplies get directly to those in need. We will be providing updates as this project continues.
